The Lean Games Book

by John Bicheno, The Lean Games Book Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Lean Games Book books, Games have been an integral part of Lean Education and Training ever since Hewlett Packard made their 'Stockless Production' video in 1982. Over two decades John Bicheno had been developing and refining games for all aspects of Lean and Operations Management. These have been assembled together to produce a compendium that will be useful to Lean and Operations trainers everywhere. Although one cannot learn about Lean exclusively from playing games, games do allow quick experiential learning that reading about Lean, or listening to a lecture, cannot convey. Games allow players not only to learn about the interaction of particular Lean tools, but also to develop the richness of discussion, participation, and decision making that are essential requirements for successful Lean implementation. This collection covers a wide field including waste reduction, 5S, scheduling, layout, TPM, design, quality, and changeover, as well as an appreciation of the effects of variation and utilization. Some specific and perhaps lesser-known concepts such as Drum Buffer Rope, CONWIP and Bucket Brigade line balancing are also included. All the games presented here have been thoroughly tested and played in plant, academic, and workshop settings.

by Mathias Michalicki, Kostenrechnung In Der Lean Produktion Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format.

Lean Driven Innovation

by Norbert Majerus, Lean Driven Innovation Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Lean Driven Innovation books, In 2005, Goodyear’s research and development (R&D) engine was not performing up to its full potential. The R&D organization developed high-quality tires, but the projects were not always successful. Goodyear embarked on a major initiative to transform its innovation creation processes by learning, understanding, and applying lean product development principles. Within five years, Goodyear saw its product development cycle times slashed by 70 percent, on-time delivery performance rise close to 100 percent, and throughput improve three-fold – all achieved with no increase in the R&D budget. Lean-Driven Innovation: Powering Product Development at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company describes in great detail how the Goodyear team was able to achieve such significant improvements. Revealing the ups and downs of this successful transformation, the book shares experiences of how this seismic change was managed, how people were engaged, and how Goodyear dramatically reinvigorated its product development and innovation processes—and, in the process, delivered substantial more value to customers and to the company. The book also explains how lean product development helped Goodyear dramatically improve revenue by having every new product available when the market needed it. Presenting wide-ranging perspectives from all levels of leadership, this book is ideal for anyone in R&D daring to take on a lean initiative in R&D or who is struggling with a lean transformation that is not delivering to its full potential. Since the book focuses on universal lean principles, it is as insightful to other manufacturing and nonmanufacturing disciplines in any industry as well. The book presents invaluable insights gained by the author during his 36 years within Goodyear, of which 10 have been directly involved in trying to develop, implement, and sustain lean to achieve the company’s business objectives. It distills ideas, practices, failures, and successes into key principles that lean product development practitioners can easily implement. After reading this book, you will gain a practical path for applying lean to the innovation processes of your organization, including where to begin and what to do, regardless of the industry and the status of your transformation. Lean Media

by Ian Lamont, Lean Media Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Lean Media books, Great films, recordings, books, websites, video games, advertisements, and live performances don't happen by accident. They are often the result of innovative creators working on small, well-balanced teams and paying close attention to the needs of audiences. This is the approach advocated by Lean Media, an innovative framework and toolset for media managers and creative professionals. Anyone working in media knows how tough it is for a new release to get traction. The failure rate for entertainment and informational media is staggeringly high—some two-thirds of new TV shows will not be renewed for a second season, and in the marketplace for books, recorded music, and video games, the failure rate is even higher. The industry has been upended by digital platforms, new business models, and changing audience preferences, making it extremely difficult to develop and launch successful media. Lean Media can give teams an edge. Using examples and easy-to-understand best practices, author and media veteran Ian Lamont describes how new ventures and established teams can leverage Lean Media to eliminate waste, focus creativity, and better understand their audiences. For individuals who make media, founders of media ventures, and media professionals working in experienced teams, the Lean Media book explains how to streamline processes, lower costs, reduce the risk of failure, and ultimately create media that matters. All kinds of media professionals can leverage the framework, including: * Filmmakers * Publishers * Broadcasters * Authors * Journalists * Graphic designers * Website operators * Recording artists * Video game designers * Copywriters * Creative directors * Performance artists In an industry that has been upended by digital platforms and new business models, the Lean Media framework provides a new approach to innovation that reduces costs and risk while boosting the chances of making media that audiences love.

by Charles Protzman, The Lean Practitioner S Field Book Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download The Lean Practitioner S Field Book books, While there are numerous Lean Certification programs, most companies have their own certification paths whereby they bestow expert status upon employees after they have participated in or led a certain number of kaizen events. Arguing that the number of kaizen events should not determine a person's expert status, The Lean Practitioner's Field Book: Proven, Practical, Profitable and Powerful Techniques for Making Lean Really Work outlines a true learning path for anyone seeking to understand essential Lean principles. The book includes a plethora of examples drawn from the personal experiences of its many well-respected and award-winning contributors. Introducing the Lean Practitioner concept, the book details the five distinct Lean Practitioner levels and includes quizzes and criteria for each level. It highlights the differences between the kaizen event approach and the Lean system level approach as well as the difference between station balancing and baton zone. This book takes readers on a journey that begins with an overview of Lean principles and culminates with readers developing professionally through the practice of self-reliance. Providing you with the tools to implement Lean tools in your organization, the book includes discussions and examples that demonstrate how to transition from traditional accounting methods to a Lean accounting system.
